Screen Printing

The right answer for volume. Screen printing pushes ink through a mesh screen, one screen per colour, so there is a setup cost up front and then the price per shirt keeps falling the more you order. Past a few dozen pieces nothing beats it on cost or on the solid, opaque look of the ink.

What it costs

Per piece, per location, on top of the garment. Plus $25.00 per screen, once. One screen per colour, per design.

QuantityPrice per piece
1 to 11$15.00
12 to 23$12.00
24 to 47$10.00
48 to 99$8.50
100 to 249$7.50
250 and up$6.50

These are the live prices this site charges, not an estimate. The garment itself is priced separately at /shop, and every extra location is charged at its own rate.

What it is good for

  • Event and giveaway tees in real quantity
  • Team and crew shirts
  • Bold one, two or three colour logos
  • Large prints across a chest or back
  • Any run where the same design goes on a lot of pieces

When something else is better

Small runs, or artwork with many colours or photographic blends. Each colour is another screen and another setup, so a six colour design on a dozen shirts costs more in setup than the shirts. DTF is the better answer there.

Artwork we can use

  • Vector art separates cleanly into colours: AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF.
  • Tell us the exact colours if they matter. We can match to a Pantone reference.
  • Fewer colours means fewer screens, which means lower setup.
  • Gradients and drop shadows do not screen print well. We will suggest DTF instead.

How it works

1 Send artwork and quantities

Colour count drives the setup cost, so the quote is honest about it up front.

2 We separate the colours

One screen per colour, per design. Reorders of the same design skip this.

3 You approve a proof

Placement, size and colours confirmed before a screen is burned.

4 We print and ship

Cured properly so the ink survives the wash, not just the photo.

Nothing goes into production without an approved proof. That is enforced by the software, not by somebody remembering.

Common questions

How much does screen printing cost?

From $15.00 a piece at low quantities down to $6.50 at 250 or more, per location, plus $25.00 per screen once. One screen per colour, per design.

Why is there a setup fee?

Each colour needs its own physical screen, made for your design. That work happens once. It is why screen printing gets cheaper per piece the more you order, and why it is the wrong choice for a handful of shirts.

What is the minimum for screen printing?

There is no hard minimum, but below roughly two dozen pieces the setup usually outweighs the saving. Ask us and we will tell you honestly whether DTF would cost you less.

Can you match our brand colours?

Yes. Send us the Pantone references and we will match the ink.

Is screen printing or DTF better?

Screen print for volume and solid colour. DTF for small runs, full colour artwork, or photographs. If you tell us the design and the quantity we will tell you which is cheaper.
